It is a warm, sluggish summer day. My thoughts are already jumping
ahead to this month’s Maine workshop. Our day trip to Monhegan Island was
cancelled in June because of weather, so I’m doubly excited.
A chance word by a FB friend got me thinking about Rockwell
Kent’s smashing paintings of Mañana from Monhegan—a view which we’ll be
painting, exactly, since our site is next door to Kent’s former home. Looking at them is more bracing than a gin-and-tonic, sweeter than an ice cream cone!
